* **price** /praɪs/: The amount of money you must pay to buy something. — “The **price** of coffee has gone up again.”
* **cheap** /tʃip/: Costing only a little money. — “T-shirts are really **cheap** in this shop.”
* **expensive** /ɪkˈspɛnsɪv/: Costing a lot of money. — “That coat is too **expensive** for me.”
* **how much**: The words used to ask about the cost of something. — “**How much** is this jacket?”
* **total** /ˈtoʊtəl/: The whole amount after everything is added together. — “The **total** came to thirty pounds.”
* **high** /haɪ/: Costing a lot of money. — “House prices are very **high** in the city centre.”
* **low** /loʊ/: Costing very little money. — “The shop offers surprisingly **low** prices.”
* **half price**: Costing fifty per cent less than the usual cost. — “The shoes were **half price** in the sale.”
* **full price**: The normal, complete cost of something, with no discount. — “I never buy clothes at **full price**.”
* **fair** /fɛr/: Reasonable and honest, not too high or too low. — “Ten pounds seems like a **fair** price for that.”
